Certification is one of the most confusing and misunderstood factors when shopping for a diamond. A ‘cert’ will give you all the information about the anatomy of your diamond. That includes the 4Cs, dimensions, a plot of where the imperfections are, cut, symmetry and polish grades, as well as other notes that may be applicable to your diamond. These notes can include details such as whether your diamond has a laser inscription or any unique physical anomalies worth mentioning.
There are only a handful of gemological laboratories which can be trusted with accurately and objectively grading a diamond—the most reputable are the GIA and AGS. Since the vast majority of loose diamonds at LaRog’s are graded blindly by the GIA, you can be certain that your diamond is being graded objectively.
